1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Line by Line (“the Service”) at linebyline.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Line by Line is a language-learning platform where users improve their English by typing out stories line by line, supported by translations in their native language. We offer both a free tier and a paid subscription plan.

3. Accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Notify us immediately at linebyline.help@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

• Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on the recurring schedule you selected.
• Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will retain access until then.
• Refunds: We offer refunds on a case-by-case basis. If you believe you are owed a refund, contact us at linebyline.help@gmail.com within 14 days of a charge.
• We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any regulations.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or extract content or data from the platform in an automated manner.
• Share your account credentials with others or sell access to your account.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
• Submit false information or impersonate another person.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the platform — including stories, translations, UI design, and code — is owned by or licensed to Line by Line. Nothing in these terms grants you any right to reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our written permission. Your personal usage data (progress, streaks) remains yours.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Use the Service at your own risk.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Line by Line and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at linebyline.help@gmail.com. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in a court of competent jurisdiction, as required by local law.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice on the site. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
